If The Shoe Fits

August 11, 1996

I look to the Puzzler every Sunday as my greatest challenge of the day. Many times my friend Bill and I have been stymied by Sylvia Bursztyn and Barry Tunick's witty double-entendres. Last week's "Upgrades," with quips like "dome-cile" and "worked on a submarine," drove us insane and left us groaning. But they crossed the line with "tootsy wrapper." Hours were spent, lives came unglued, and finally the lights went on. Are they trying to torture us, or what?
