* Nomination of Dole for president by Sen. John McCain of seconding speeches will be made by Rep. Henry Bonilla of Texas and Wendy Lee Gramm, wife of Sen. Phil Gramm

* Roll Call of states

* Nomination of Jack Kemp for vice president; approved by acclamation


* Four years ago, Clinton surprised--and electrified--his convention by breaking with tradition and making a brief appearance inside the hall where he had just been nominated for president. Does Dole have a similar surprise in store?

* The Dole nominating speech will give one war hero--McCain withstood extensive torture as a prisoner of war in Vietnam--a chance to extol the virtues of another to a wide audience.
