Watson General Loses $452,000 in Third Quarter

August 18, 1996

IRVINE — Watson General Corp., which provides remote tank monitoring services, posted a net loss of $452,000, or 4 cents a share, for the third fiscal quarter, compared with a net loss of $123,000, or 1 cent a share, for the 1995 period. Sales for the quarter ended June 30 increased 10% to $1.1 million from $1 million.

The company said results for the third quarter were affected by costs related to its acquisition of EnviroQuest and the merger of EnvirAlert and EnviroQuest to form a new subsidiary, Watson Systems.

For the first nine months, the company lost $1.3 million, or 12 cents a share, compared with a year-earlier net loss of $921,000, or 10 cents a share. Sales rose 19% to $2.5 million from $2.1 million.
