August 22, 1996

Fluor Corp.: The Irvine engineering and construction company posted improved results in the fiscal third quarter as new orders grew.

Net income for the quarter ended July 31 rose 13.1%, to $68.1 million, or 81 cents a share, from $60.2 million, or 72 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue jumped 10.9%, to $2.7 billion from $2.44 billion.
