OUTLOOK

This is the season coaches and players have been pointing to at the fourth-year school with its full complement of seniors. Twenty-five returning lettermen is usually a good sign in the PCL, but still not as many as Laguna Hills. Still, most think the Wolverines are the likely challenger to the Hawks for the league title, and they play in Week 10 at Mission Viejo High. The offensive line will average about 250 pounds, which should help Nemeth improve upon last year's numbers (12 touchdowns, six interceptions, 1,176 yards) and create additional yards for Perley (5.2 yards per carry). The Wolverines were beaten in the Division VIII playoffs by top-seeded Baldwin Park Sierra Vista, 9-7, in the second round. Mashburn had 31 catches for a 15.5 average. Thomas (Sunny Hills) and McKee (Washington state) are both transfers.
