The "practically perfect" nanny comes to live with the Banks family in 1910 London in the 1964 Walt Disney film Mary Poppins (Disney Channel, Sunday at 7 p.m.). Julie Andrews is Mary Poppins and Dick Van Dyke plays her friend, Bert. For the family.

A hip young writer (comedian Tom Rhodes) returns from New York to teach English in his hometown in the premiere of Mr. Rhodes (NBC, Monday at 8:30 p.m.). The maverick new teacher at Harkin Academy finds the students challenging and his life hits some snags with wannabe hip headmaster, Ray Heary (Stephen Tobolowsky) and highbrow history teacher Ronald Felcher (Ron Glass). But there is some chemistry between the teacher and the school's beautiful guidance counselor, Nikki Harkin (Farrah Forke). For ages 12 to 17.

Former high school basketball star Kobe Bryant, who recently joined the Lakers, makes his acting debut on Moesha (UPN, Tuesday at 8 p.m.). In the episode "The Whistle Blower," Bryant is a classmate of Moesha (Brandy Norwood) who gets help and encouragement in retaking the SAT exam. His score doubles and everyone is suspicious that Moesha actually took the test for him. For ages 10 to 17.

Shingalana, a story of an abandoned lion cub adopted by humans, airs in three parts on three consecutive nights (Disney Channel, beginning Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.). Raised in a South African game reserve, Shingalana is taken to a national park in Zambia to be reintroduced to the wild. For the family.

As the Becket kids prepare to perform in the "Care for Critters Charity Talent Contest," on Second Noah (ABC, Saturday at 8 p.m.), Shirley is visited by a ghost from her past--her son, Jojo. For the family.
