Straw Hats and Flowers: Mary Engelbreit, whose enormously popular and vivid illustrations of quaint children in Norman Rockwell-ish settings on greeting cards, mugs and hundreds of other products have made her into a one-woman multimillion-dollar industry, will make an appearance at Storyopolis bookstore and art gallery on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The occasion for the reception, free to the public, is the publication of her new book, "Mary Engelbreit: The Art and Artist" and the launch of her new Martha Stewart-type magazine, "Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion."

* Storyopolis, 116 N. Robertson, Plaza A, (310) 358-2500.
