PRO HOCKEY DAILY REPORT : KINGS

Frustrated Blake May Miss Opener

September 26, 1996|LISA DILLMAN

King defenseman Rob Blake wants to play in the season opener, Oct. 4, but realizes it may not happen. "The first game, I don't know," he said. "I'm not going to push it."

His frustration increased when an MRI on Tuesday revealed that he had suffered a partial tear of his right triceps in the recent World Cup. Typically, the injury takes six weeks to heal, and Blake has been sidelined for four weeks. He plans to test it next Thursday.
