The Ventura Offshore Grand Prix Festival started Friday and continues through Sunday off Ventura Harbor.

The schedule of events for this weekend looks this way:

Today: At 10 a.m., mini-jet boat races and wakeboard show; power skis exhibition and jet ski trick show at Harbor Cove. At noon, Acrobatic stunt show. At 1 p.m., Offshore boat races. At 3 p.m. Power ski and water world exhibitions.

Sunday: At 10 a.m., power ski and water world exhibitions. At 11 a.m., Acrobatic stunt show. At noon, Offshore power boat races, small classes. At 2 p.m., Offshore power boat races, large classes. At 4 p.m., Outrigger canoe exhibition. At 6 p.m., Awards ceremony, Harbortown.

The Cal State Northridge women's volleyball team, 3-0 in Big Sky Conference play after opening the season with eight consecutive losses, plays host to Montana tonight at 7 in the Northridge gym.

Other college events in the region today include:

Men's soccer: At 11 a.m., Oxnard College tournament.

Men's water polo: At noon, USC at Pepperdine.

High school events in the region today include:

Girls' volleyball: At 8 a.m., Royal tournament, Santa Paula tournament.

Girls' tennis: At 8 a.m., Palmdale tournament.

Water polo: At 8 a.m., Calabasas tournament, Buena tournament.

Cross country: At 8 a.m., Bell-Jeff Invitational at Griffith Park. At 9 a.m., Golden League meet at Littlerock High.


Country Days 8/K and 2/K runs, 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., respectively. Races start at Moorpark High School.
