SILVER SPRINGS, Fla. — Tightrope artist Jay Cochrane plans to become the first person in 100 years to walk across Niagara Falls on a wire.
But unlike acrobats such as the Great Blondin who made such crossings routine a century ago by traversing about 1,100 feet across Horseshoe Falls, Cochrane said Tuesday that he plans to walk all the way from the New York side to the Ontario side, about 3,500 feet.
