In Orange County, gasoline prices varied dramatically from city to city. A brief survey revealed that among the lowest prices were gas stations in Fountain Valley and Westminster.
A sampling of gas stations showed differences in prices:
* Corona del Mar Shell, 3600 E. Coast Highway, regular unleaded was selling for $1.21.
* At 5 Points Chevron, 18501 Beach Blvd., Huntington Beach, $1.15, although owner Mario Karacuschansky said Chevron has notified him that they intend to drop that price by 2 cents within the next few days.
* Jim's Arco, 14511 Brookhurst St., in Westminster, $1.01.
* Bob Neil's Union Oil Service, East 17th Street and the Costa Mesa Freeway, in Tustin, $1.15.
* Woodbridge Mobile Service Center, 4800 Barranca Parkway, Irvine, $1.21.
* Jack's Texaco Service Center, 17966 Brookhurst St., Fountain Valley, $1.19.
* Nick's Mobile, 100 W. MacArthur Blvd., Santa Ana, $1.15.
* Ortega Shell Service, 27101 Ortega Highway, in San Juan Capistrano, $1.22.
* Trabuco Union, 27271 Trabuco Road, Mission Viejo, $1.19.
* Buena Park Chevron, 6971 Beach Blvd., Buena Park, $1.13.
