Committed: Jaclyn Johnson, a 6-foot-1 forward for Bell-Jeff High, said she will attend Kansas. She was on The Times' All-Valley team as a sophomore when she played for Quartz Hill.

Upset alert: Unbeaten but beaten up, Thousand Oaks faces potent Agoura tonight minus four defensive starters.

Middle linebacker Jud Southwell, the team's leading tackler, has a sprained ankle. Also out are tackle Ryan Tardif (broken toe), and defensive backs Glen Perrault (broken hand) and Josh Casillas (groin pull).

Agoura (4-3, 2-2 in Marmonte League) is averaging 36.5 points in league games.

Tailback Jason Gordon has rushed for 1,007 yards and 15 touchdowns for the Chargers, while quarterback Ryan McCann has passed for 1,161 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Injury update: Canyon quarterback Rick Thomas (concussion) will return this week. Running back Monte McKeon (broken ankle) might return for Canyon's regular-season finale against Valencia.

Valencia running back Donavan Calhoun, who had a string of 13 consecutive 100-yard rushing games snapped by Hart last week, is out for the season with a separated shoulder.

Signing on: Yusuf Yagmur was hired as Saugus girls' soccer coach, replacing Bruce Burnham. . . . Miriam Strouble was hired as girls' soccer coach at Grant. She was conference coach of the year last season after leading the Las Vegas Cimarron Memorial High girls (14-2-1) to a conference title.
