Saugus 21, Canyon 6--Scott Garrett rushed for 129 yards and one touchdown in 17 carries and quarterback Chris Kobe added a pair of three-yard touchdown runs for the Centurions at College of the Canyons.

Jeff McKinley rushed for 201 and one touchdown in 30 carries for the Cowboys (2-6, 0-3).

Three plays after the Centurions (4-4, 2-1) recovered a fumble by Rick Thomas at the Canyon 14-yard line, Kobe opened the scoring with the first of his touchdowns.

The Cowboys scored when McKinley capped a 13-play, 86-yard drive with an 18-yard touchdown run to make it 7-6 at halftime. McKinley carried 10 times for 82 yards during the drive.

Saugus put the game out of reach on the first play of the second half when Garrett scored on a 76-yard run around right end.

"The line gave us great blocking and we played at our best," Garrett said.

Saugus finished with 236 yards after being held to 69 yards and three first downs in the first half.
