Where There's Smoke

November 03, 1996

Margo Kaufman should not light up, but she should lighten up ("Cigars Stink!" Sept. 29). If she doesn't like cigars, she should stay out of cigar rooms. I don't care much for gasoline exhaust fumes, so I stay away from gardeners who operate those awful blowers.

As a cigar smoker, I enjoy my cigars in my garage, in my truck and in wide-open outdoor locations where there are few people. No one should smoke anything in a cleaner's shop or in any other place where smoking is not welcomed.

I am grateful to have a place like Churchill's in Long Beach where fellow cigar appreciators can gather. I invite Kaufman to stay away.
