Ken Lane; Composer, Pianist Appeared on 'Dean Martin Show'

Ken Lane, 83, composer and piano accompanist best known for his weekly appearances on "The Dean Martin Show." Born in Brooklyn, Lane led the Ken Lane Singers, who worked with Frank Sinatra on radio and television. Lane followed Sinatra to Los Angeles, where he also accompanied singer Dinah Shore, and then for 25 years served as accompanist and straight man to Martin. The two men had a weekly routine with Lane sitting at the piano and maintaining a stoic face as Martin hurled verbal zingers at him. Lane also wrote the music for Martin's theme song, "Everybody Loves Somebody." On Friday in Lake Tahoe of emphysema.
