Anaheim received one award for its Energy Sale for New Construction program. The program encourages commercial and industrial customers to use energy-efficient equipment by offering financial incentives to offset the cost to install equipment in such areas as lighting, heating and air conditioning.

The second award was in the water category for the city's park irrigation modernization program. With the installation of the new irrigation system last year, about 40 million gallons of water will be saved each year, officials said.
