March 13, 1997|KATE FOLMAR

Everything you ever wanted to know about Thousand Oaks but were afraid to ask is now available online.

The city of Thousand Oaks Official Home Page has debuted on the Internet and is available at

The home page has 24 pages worth of information ranging from a smattering of Conejo Valley history to city demographics to a Civic Arts Plaza seating chart.

"The Web site offers information we believe will be helpful to our citizens and [will] enhance city services to them," said Shirley Cobb, the city's media services manager. "The possibilities of what can go online are endless."

City staffers designed the Web site and paid Advanced Network Solutions of Thousand Oaks $1,000 to post it. City staff will update the page.

Citizens with gripes, praise or suggestions for City Council members or department workers can e-mail them to

Offering information on department services, business programs and recycling, the Web site is linked to home pages of the city's library, parks department and Chamber of Commerce. It will soon be tied to the county Sheriff's Department.

The home page does not replace the city's Electronic Bulletin Board, TOB2. The bulletin board can be reached by modem at (805) 449-2168. The bulletin board, with council and committee agendas, can also be reached via a computer in the Civic Arts Plaza lobby.
