Bike Safety Rodeo Planned for Today

Bike safety and new cycling equipment will be the focus of the third annual Bike Safety Rodeo today at Gates Elementary School.

Students, parents and all others interested in the topics may attend the free public event, which will include demonstrations by the Orange County Sheriff's Department's bike patrol and community policing program, a bike repair workshop and decorated tricycle parade.

Those attending may ride their bikes to the rodeo. Representatives of the Auto Club of Southern California will be on hand to offer equipment evaluations and provide educational material on safety issues.

The bike rodeo will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Gates Elementary, 23882 Landisview Ave.
