Kim's Hitting Powers JetHawks

Yuni Kim's two-run single highlighted a four-run sixth inning that lifted the Lancaster Jethawks to a 7-4 victory over the San Jose Giants on Tuesday night at San Jose Municipal Stadium.

The JetHawks (7-6) took a 4-3 lead with two out in the sixth when James Clifford walked with the bases loaded. Clifford scored on a wild pitch after advancing to third on Kim's single.

Brian Sweeney (2-0) picked up the win in relief.

Birmingham, Ala., outfielder Jason Evans (Chatsworth) is second in the double-A Southern League with a .480 average. . . . Fort Myers, Fla., shortstop Dan Cey (El Camino Real) leads the Class-A Florida State League with a .479 average and 15 stolen bases. . . . Prince William, Va., first baseman Nate Dishington (Hoover), who is batting .400, and Lynchburg second baseman Derek Swafford (Ventura High), who is hitting .364, are both among the leaders in the Class-A Carolina League. Swafford is also near the top of the league with his .517 on-base percentage, as is Dishington with a .640 slugging percentage. . . . Frederick, Md., second baseman David Lamb (Newbury Park) is second in the Carolina League with 10 RBIs. . . . In the second game of Memphis' doubleheader, right-hander Brett Hinchliffe (2-0) gave up one unearned run in five innings. Hinchliffe has not allowed an earned run in 11 innings. . . .
