Signups for the Simi Valley Soccer Club's under-15 girls' team are Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sinaloa Junior High in Simi Valley.

Players born after July 31, 1982, are sought for the 1997-98 season. The team will be coached by former Simi Valley High and St. Mary's College player Amy Hood.

Tryouts for the North Valley Pumas' 18-and-under girls' fast-pitch softball travel team are from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at San Fernando High.

The U.S. Professional Tennis Association's California Division convention is scheduled for Saturday through Monday at the Harbortown Resort Hotel in Ventura.

The convention features many of the top tennis instructors in the state for discussions and presentations. Among the coaches expected to participate are Vic Braden, Wayne Bryan, Don Henson, Gundars Tilmanis and Ron Woods.

The convention is open to the public. The fee for non-USPTA members is $145.

Signups for the 1997 Agoura/Oak Park Youth Eagle football and cheerleading program are Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ralph's market at Thousand Oaks Boulevard and Kanan Road in Agoura Hills.

Full-contact football is for players 8 through 14. A new Bantam Division is for players 8 to 10. Players 11 to 14 will compete in a Junior Division.
