In Some Ways, Times Have Changed for Better

May 04, 1997

It is refreshing to read that real estate agents are taking the time to learn how to sell to Asian buyers. ("Learning Art of Selling to Asian Buyers," by Karen E. Klein, April 20).

Only a generation ago, no Realtor would think of selling to Asian Americans, blacks, Latinos or other ethnic minority groups.

Indeed, my own parents were not allowed to buy a house in the Crenshaw area in the early 1960s. Finally, with the removal of restrictive covenants, they were afforded the opportunity to do so. My, how times have changed!
