Women's footwear maker Nine West Group said the Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating how it books sales and revenue and other practices. Trading in shares of the Stamford, Conn.-based firm were halted on the NYSE. . . . United Parcel Service of America Inc. pilots voted overwhelmingly to strike if an agreement on wages isn't reached with the nation's largest package delivery company. The strike would occur after a 30-day cooling-off period. . . . The U.S. Department of Agriculture will base the minimum price for milk on a new weekly survey of cheddar cheese prices at U.S. manufacturing plants. The method replaces pricing based on the National Cheese Exchange in Green Bay, Wis. . . . The nation's 1,600 TV stations would be required to return their current broadcast licenses by 2006 under legislation introduced by Senate Commerce Committee Chairman John McCain.
