Pomp and Talk: It's that time of year. . . . CSUN says that Olympic rower Anita DeFrantz, as well as graduates Scott Horowitz, the astronaut, and screenwriter Kathy McWorter, will be among the speakers for graduation ceremonies May 27-30.

Pushed Out: Pitchers shouldn't do push-up drills. At least that's the view of Sean Douglass, above, a right-hander at Antelope Valley High, and many experts agree. . . . Douglass, among the nation's top high school prospects, quit the team Thursday after Coach Ed t'Sas made him do 332 push-ups on Tuesday (C16).

Almost History: Hurry out and see the World War II vintage airplanes at Mercury Aviation, at the southwest side of the Burbank Airport, before they fly away. . . . Tours of the B-24 and B-17 bombers will be offered from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. today. Then the planes take off for this weekend's Chino Airport Fair.
