USA West Literary Winners

Winners of the PEN Center USA West 1997 Literary Awards Competition were announced Tuesday, honoring outstanding works published or produced in 1996 by writers living in the West.

This year's winners are:

Children's literature: Peg Kehret, "Small Steps: The Year I Got Polio" (Whitman)

Drama: Rita Nachtmann, "How I Spent My Life's Vacation" (Camilla's Theatre)

Teleplay: Bima Stagg, "Inside" (Showtime)
