Critic's Pick

'Peter's Friends'

August 10, 1997|Peter Rainer

It's been heralded as a British "Big Chill," but that's not entirely accurate. Kenneth Branagh (pictured), who directed from a script by co-star Rita Rudner (pictured) and Martin Bregman, brings something theatrical to the mix. The film opens in 1982 and flashes to a reunion on a country estate 10 years later (Cinemax early Thursday at 4:30 a.m.).
