New Branch Library Manager Appointed

December 19, 1997

A new manager has been named for one of two branch libraries in the Palos Verdes Library District.

Hillary Theyer, who has worked for the district since September, was appointed manager of the Malaga Cove Plaza Library.

Theyer is no stranger to the district--her mother was a librarian there for many years.

Theyer worked in the young readers department of the district's main facility, the Peninsula Center Library, before being named to her new post. She came to the library from Sacramento, where she managed a branch library.

The Malaga Cove Branch in Palos Verdes Estates has 34,000 books in a historic building. The Miraleste Library, the second branch, has 37,000 books. The main library has 175,000 volumes.

The Palos Verdes Library District serves about 69,000 residents in Palos Verdes Estates, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes and surrounding areas.
