Rosie O’Doll Will Make a Limited Appearance
A doll patterned after talk show host Rosie O’Donnell will be in short supply this holiday season. A spokeswoman for Kmart Corp., one of only two retailers selling the Rosie O’Doll, said customers have already reserved its shipment of 75,000 dolls. Toys R Us customers reserved about 50,000 Rosie O’Dolls last month, and an additional 116,000 dolls will be made available late in December to customers who leave a $10 down payment. O’Donnell’s business partners said plans to manufacture the doll, which retails for $25, came together late and that a plant in China can make only a limited number of the dolls.
