Toyota, VW End Lease Dispute With FTC

Toyota Motor Sales USA, Volkswagen of America and five St. Louis dealerships settled Federal Trade Commission charges that they misled consumers by advertising low monthly lease payments or a small amount stated as "down" but not representing the full amount of upfront charges due on signing a lease. They promised to display upfront charges in future lease ads. None of the parties admitted wrongdoing.
