No. 9 Edison (5-1-1, 1-1) vs. No. 10 Fountain Valley (5-2, 1-1)

This is almost a playoff game, because the loser could fall out of the league race and the playoffs. Fountain Valley has a bigger slide to stop. The Barons have lost two in a row after winning their first five. Edison must revive its spirits after last week's 27-26 loss to Esperanza. Stopping Fountain Valley begins with stopping John Sanders, one of the county's quickest running backs. Even though Charger quarterback Jeff Grady is having an excellent passing year, the Barons' defense must keep running backs Darin Pope and Josh Kogler bottled up.

QB Jeff Grady 1,093 yds., 8 TDs

WR Jeff Hall 30 rec., 422 yds., 5 TDs

RB Darin Pope 93 carries, 681 yds., 6 TDs

Fountain Valley

WR Aaron Carter 19 rec., 479 yds., 4 TDs

QB Jason Morris 1,177 yds., 6 TDs

RB John Sanders 88 carries, 791 yds., 19 TDs
