Using Summer for More Than Vacation I learned a lot about how the world works and functions and how you yourself, through a lot of hard work and determination, can make a difference. You yourself are a grain in the big sea of sand, but if you put your mind to it, you can make a difference. It is really neat to see that you can have that power. I also learned a lot of people skills, introducing yourself and meeting people and putting forth your opinions, learning what you say matters and that democracy works. and One of the best things I learned is, don't judge a book by its cover.
You can stereotype people and they turn out totally different than you thought. So you need to take time to get to know people and always be open-minded.
