Cone to Make Start on Saturday

New York Yankee pitcher David Cone will make his first start in more than a month on Saturday against Toronto.

Yankee Manager Joe Torre said Cone wouldn't pitch any more than five innings and if all goes well, he'll pitch again on Sept. 25 at Cleveland.

Cone was put on the disabled list on Aug. 19 because of shoulder tendinitis.

Just one day after the St. Louis Cardinals signed Mark McGwire for at least three more years, the team said the price of season tickets will be going up.

In some cases, the increases will be 14% to 17%.

After the McGwire signing was announced Tuesday morning, the club received 250 inquiries about season tickets and sold more than 40 by late afternoon.

While Minnesota Twin owner Carl Pohlad says he is seriously talking with a businessman who wants to move the team to the Carolinas.

Pohlad revealed his talks with Don Beaver--owner of the triple-A Charlotte Knights--on Wednesday

The Twins can announce at the end of this season if they want to escape their Metrodome lease at the end of next season.

New York Met reliever John Franco, bothered by a strained muscle in his left side, sat out Thursday's game and returned to New York for an MRI exam that revealed no serious damage.
