UC Irvine's annual Plant Sale and Native Plant Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 4 in the campus arboretum.

Demonstrations on cultivating native plants and tours of the arboretum's native collection and the San Joaquin Freshwater Marsh will be given periodically during the day. Plant experts will be on hand to answer questions and give advice. Wildflower posters and books on native plants will be available.

The event will be co-sponsored by the Orange County chapter of the California Native Plant Society, the UCI Arboretum and the marsh reserve.
