City Ends Contract With Consultant

September 27, 1997|LISA ADDISON

In response to angry residents, the City Council this week terminated its contract with Robert Bein, William Frost & Associates to prepare an environmental impact report for a proposed 2,500-home project north of Turtle Rock.

About 75 Turtle Rock residents packed the council meeting this week, and many urged the council to fire the well-known consulting firm from the project proposed by the Irvine Co. The residents alleged the firm would lack objectivity because it had worked for the Irvine Co. on other projects.

A representative from the firm--known as RBF--denied any conflict of interest and said he would have welcomed an independent review of its work on the report.
