Art Exhibit, Festival to Benefit After-School Program

An annual art exhibit and festival scheduled to be held at Park Labrea on Sunday will benefit L.A.'s BEST, an after-school enrichment program in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

The daylong "Walk in the Park for Art" event will feature the works of more than 100 artists, said Patricia Houston, assistant general manager of Park Labrea. Artworks exhibited will be for sale.

Activities for children, music and international foods are also part of the event, which will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A donation of $10 per family is requested at the entrance, at 6200 W. 3rd Street. Free parking is available.

The Park Labrea Family Art Fund will donate proceeds to L.A.'s BEST, The Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Park Labrea Arts Council. Park Labrea will match funds raised up to $5,000.
