The Jalama Beach Heavy Wind Classic, a professional and amateur windsurfing competition, will be held May 14-17 off the coast north of Point Conception.

Tennis instruction for youths, teens and adults and leagues for adults are offered by the Conejo Recreation and Park District.

Beginning and intermediate-level group lessons are provided Monday through Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings at Triunfo and Borchard parks, as well as Thousand Oaks Community Park, the North Ranch and Wildflower play fields, and the Thousand Oaks Racquet Club.

League play takes place Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the same sites.

Prospective participants may register at the Conejo Recreation and Park District Sports Office.

The Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District will hold a managers' meeting for its Summer 1998 adult softball season at 7 p.m. May 6 at the Camarillo Community Center.

There will be men's, women's and coed slow-pitch competition Sundays through Fridays beginning June 28.

Registration fees are $315 per team for in-district teams, $393.75 for out-of-district teams.

Registration is underway for the seventh Castaic Dam Races, May 16 at Castaic Lake. The 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer races will be held in 10 age groups. Competitive and noncompetitive runners will be grouped separately.
