MOORPARK — Los Robles Children's Choir is looking for singers from throughout the county to audition for the 1998-99 season.

Children 8 to 14 are eligible.

For the beginners section, Choir Director Donna Young said she is seeking children who have a pleasing voice, aptitude and the ability to hear and sing back in tune. For the advanced section, Young wants children with musical experience either from a choir or from playing an instrument.

Those accepted in the decade-old choir will perform in several concerts with Los Robles Master Chorale. In the past, the children have also appeared at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, Moorpark College's Performing Arts Center and the Civic Arts Plaza in Thousand Oaks.

The mission of the choir, Young said, is to teach self-discipline, poise and team-building.

Rehearsals will take place once a week at Moorpark College. The fee for the choir has not been set, Young said. Last year, the charge was $125 a semester.

To schedule an audition, call Young at (805) 480-1880.
