August 04, 1998|EDWARD M. YOON

William Ginsburg, former legal counsel to Monica Lewinsky, will speak at a breakfast meeting today in Tarzana.

Ginsburg will discuss the role of the independent prosecutor at a meeting of the Jewish Federation / Valley Alliance Business & Professions Division, said Steve Gamer, a spokesman for the West Hills-based group.

"Those attending the breakfast will get an insider's view on how the prosecutor's office works at the very highest level," Gamer said.

Ginsburg will take questions after his talk.

Ginsburg is a defense attorney and trial lawyer in the Los Angeles firm of Ginsburg, Stephan, Oringher & Richman, where his practice centers primarily on product liability, professional malpractice and criminal defense.

He also is on the board of directors of the Foundation for Community Service of the Los Angeles County Medical Assn. and is a regular participant in the Duke University Private Sector Think Tank and the Urban Institute in Washington, D.C.

Ginsburg has served on the California State Senate Business Insurance Committee, the California State Malpractice Advisory Commission and the California AIDS Leadership Committee.

"We're thrilled to offer the community an opportunity to hear him," Gamer said. "Our goal for our breakfast meetings is to bring people of importance to address the Jewish community."

The breakfast begins at 8 a.m. in the clubhouse at El Caballero Country Club, 18300 Tarzana Drive, Tarzana. The cost is $20.
