Catalina Express, a ferry service to Catalina Island, has commissioned a boat from the Mashantucket Pequot tribal nation in Connecticut, the company chairman said.
Doug Bombard said it will be the company's eighth vessel.
The ship, which is being built at the tribe's Pequot River Shipworks in New London, Conn., will be completed in March and sail to the West Coast via the Panama Canal, a three-week journey.
