Rio Hondo's Young Artist Competition is seeking applications from pianists and woodwind musicians. In addition to appearing as guest soloists, the winners will receive $500 in cash provided by the Symphony Guild. The competition, scheduled for Jan. 30 at Whittier College, is limited to the first 25 eligible musicians. The entry fee is $25. Entrants must submit applications by Tuesday.
