I am one of the women who lost out on the dream ("Sand Storm," by Janet Wiscombe, Nov. 15)--the fantasy of a woman playing a professional sport in a man's world. For 10 years, I cherished every moment, and I'm still struggling to keep the dream alive.
Many thanks to Wiscombe for telling a story that, until now, the women of pro beach volleyball could not talk about for fear of retaliation. Unfortunately, it required that Kent Steffes and others get burned before the truth about mismanagement was allowed to surface.
