COLUMBUS, Ohio — An animal-rights activist walked onto a stage and pushed a tofu cream pie into the face of the chairman of Procter & Gamble Co. as he received an award from the governor Thursday.
The woman, a member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, followed John E. Pepper to the podium during the awards banquet. She hit him with the pie and said: "Procter & Gamble poisons animals! Shame on you, John Pepper! Shame on you!"
