The financially strapped city government has laid off eight more people, reducing its staff from last year's all-time high of 105 to 30. The layoffs reduce the budget by $23,000 a month.
The square-mile city has been through tough economic times recently. Last year, it disbanded its police force, whose duties were taken over by the Sheriff's Department.
