Pet Vaccinations Offered

January 06, 1998|LESLEY WRIGHT

Veterinarians will help dogs and cats start off the new year in good health by holding a low-cost vaccination clinic today at the Orange County Animal Shelter in Orange.

Local and state laws require dogs older than 4 months to be vaccinated against rabies. Shots for other illnesses also will be available.

Pet owners can have their pets vaccinated against rabies for $4; a full booster is $12 for felines and canines. Dogs may get additional vaccines for $9 per shot.

Owners must have their furry friends on leashes or in carriers.

The clinic is sponsored by the Southern California Veterinary Medical Assn. and Orange County Animal Control. All the vets are volunteering their time.

The clinic is being held at the county's shelter, 561 City Drive South in Orange, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
