Tech Training Via Videos

You want to venture into the Internet. Or, you are enjoying your visits but would like to take full advantage of what is available.

For the keenly interested and neophyte alike there is a comprehensive training tool, "The Internet Guide for Everyone: Your Key to Mastering the Internet." This high-end tutorial cassette was developed by Executive Internet Consulting L.L.C. for educational use in business, industry and academia.

The developers call it the most comprehensive Internet training product. Their claim was bolstered in August when it was ranked highest among all Internet training programs at the First View 1997 Expo in Atlanta for being easy to use, with informative training sequences and high standard video graphics.

The one-hour 40-minute video lists for $89.95 and can be ordered at (718) 444-7932.

It contains sections dedicated to navigating the 'net, bookmarks, searches, access and downloading software, e-mail, participating in news groups and mailing lists.

Executive Internet Consulting also explores support materials for users of the "Internet Guide for Everyone." While familiarizing themselves with the intricacies of the Internet, video users also can use the reference guides to explore areas of the 'net that are of interest to them.

The video clearly is designed with the viewer's comfort in mind.

Another how-to video dealing with computer users is "Sexy Software Presents Windows 95," which lets one learn to use Windows with Greta. Who's Greta? She's a 22-year-old blonde in a colorful bikini.

Using this novel twist, Greta shares her secrets and explains many steps on how to make good use of Windows. No nudity or poor taste, just fun as Greta shows the viewer shortcuts, setups and tricks about using Windows 95 menus, icons, installing and taking out software, keyboard tricks, adding objects to the desktop and the control panel.

The 56-minute training video from Thumbs Up Video Productions in Orange, Calif., lists for $19.95. Order at 1-800-524-6912.

One more title for the struggling new technology person: "VCR Programming Made Simple," $24.95, 30 minutes (1-800-906-0298). This video shows how to record on a variety of VCRs, use of the VCR Plus system, as well as the one-touch recording feature of some models.
