13 Residents Named to Advisory Councils

January 13, 1998|SYLVIA L. OLIANDE

Thirteen West Valley residents have been named new members of Councilwoman Laura Chick's Neighborhood Planning Advisory Councils, which often have the first look at development projects proposed for their communities.

The three West Valley councils review projects in the early planning stages and advise Chick on potential problems.

Chick established the councils when she took office in 1993 to give officials and developers a chance to work on problems early in the planning stages, before public hearings.

The new members on the Canoga Park/Winnetka council are Kathi Frazier and Joe Cupa of Canoga Park and Ian Waterman, Gary Humecke and Marty Gaboudian of Winnetka. This council meets from 7 to 9 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month at the Dilbeck/James R. Gary Real Estate offices, 21747 Erwin St. in Woodland Hills.

New members on the Woodland Hills/West Hills council are Ralph Michiel of West Hills and Max Davis and Richard Tasoff of Woodland Hills. The council meets from 7 to 9 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month at the Fallbrook Mall Community Room, 6633 Fallbrook Ave. in West Hills.

On the Reseda/Tarzana/Encino/West Van Nuys council, new members are Barkev Hamalian and Arturo Trinidad of Reseda, Marty Reyes and Karla Kincaid of Van Nuys and Jeff Stevens of Tarzana. This council meets from 7 to 9 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month at Balboa Recreation Center, 17015 Burbank Blvd., Encino.

The new members, who will serve three-year terms, join 23 returning council members.
