Solution Sought for Problem Intersection

January 13, 1998|JULIO V. CANO

A troublesome intersection near two campuses, where traffic backs up before school, is expected to get a face lift.

The Community Development Commission today is expected to approve hiring a consultant to devise a plan to upgrade the traffic signal at Walker Street and Crescent Avenue.

Residents have complained that the signal and layout of the intersection jam traffic, especially mornings when students are dropped off at Kennedy High School and Walker Junior High School.

The study is expected to cost $6,200 and the work itself about $80,000.

The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, 7822 Walker St. Information: (714) 523-7700.
