Red Cross Helps Prepare for El Nino

The American Red Cross will offer a class next weekend that could help people prepare for El Nino-related weather disasters.

"Wacky Weather Weekend" will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Buenaventura Mall, 363 S. Mills Road, in Ventura. In addition to providing information on preparing for flooding that may occur as a result of the El Nino effect, volunteers will offer tips on earthquake and wildfire preparedness.

Emergency check lists and first aid and emergency supply kits will be available.
