Investing for small-business owners is the topic of a special panel at The Times' second annual Investment Strategies Conference.

"Investing and Retirement Issues for Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs" is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. to noon Feb. 8 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Times small-business columnist Vicki Torres will moderate.

Moran, a Gardena financial planner with Financial Network, a nationwide investment corporation; and Laura Tarbox, owner of Tarbox Equity, fee-only financial planners and asset managers in Newport Beach.

The session is part of the Feb. 7-8 conference, which includes more than 35 panels on personal investment issues. Registration for specific panels is on a first-come, first-served basis. Conference cost is $45 for one day, $55 for both. For more information or to register, call (800) 350-3211 or visit The Times' Web site at http://www.latimes.com/isc.
