The seven presidents of Orange Coast College over its 50 years will be honored during ceremonies on Feb. 10.

OCC is in the midst of commemorating its 50th anniversary. The college was officially established in January 1947; the first classes were offered in September 1948.

The college's past and present presidents are Basil H. Petersen (1947-64), Norman E. Watson (1964), Robert B. Moore (1964-82), Bernard J. Luskin (1982-84), Donald R. Bronsard (1985-89), David R. Grant (1989-95) and Margaret A. Gratton (1996-present).

Petersen, founding president, died in 1982 and will be represented at the ceremony by his two sons, Richard and David, who both graduated from OCC in the 1950s.

A reception at 5 p.m. in the student center precedes the program, which starts at 5:30.

Each president will receive a plaque during the ceremony and will deliver an address looking at the highlights of his or her presidency.
