Ice People Skateth

January 25, 1998|MICHAEL QUINTANILLA

To outsiders, we Angelenos are portrayed as a beach-loving breed, known for our rollerblading along the Pacific.

But there are many sides to the undersides of our feet. We hike, we pedal, we jog, we surf. And even in sunny-side-up-L.A. we can't wait to whooosh across the chilling ice of a skating rink.

Bundled up with layers of clothing, including mittens and hats, these skaters at Burbank's Pickwick Ice Skating Arena rock and roll atop the deep freeze in threesomes, as couples and in singular sensations.
